RevenueCat has its own MCP server. Why use HeyMetra?

RevenueCat's own server is built to run RevenueCat from an assistant: apps, products, offerings, paywalls and entitlements, plus its charts. Use it for that. HeyMetra is for questions that cross accounts: RevenueCat's MRR beside AppsFlyer's ad spend or App Store Connect's downloads, from one connection that also holds your other accounts, in any of the eight assistants we support.

Can I use both?

Yes. They are separate servers. Add both, and your assistant uses the one a question needs.

Will it show MRR over time?

Yes. Your assistant reads RevenueCat's own charts, so MRR, revenue, active subscriptions, trials and churn come day by day, week by week or month by month for the dates you ask about. A period that is still filling in is marked as incomplete rather than shown as a drop.

Can I see the figures in a different currency?

Yes. You name the reporting currency, and the headline figures come back in it.

Which key do I need?

A V2 secret key from your project's settings, starting with sk_, with read access to projects and to charts and metrics. To let your assistant propose changes, also give customer information and project configuration read and write. Keys starting with appl_, goog_ or amzn_ are the public keys your app ships with and cannot read anything.

One key can see several projects. Which one is read?

The one you pick when you connect. One connection is one project, which is usually one app, so connect again for another.

Setting it up 5 steps. You copy a key or the connection details from the account and paste them into HeyMetra.

Five steps. The key has to be a V2 secret key starting with sk_. The public keys your app ships with start differently, and they cannot read a single figure.

    Create a V2 secret key in the project's settings

    RevenueCat dashboard → your project → Settings → API keys → New. Name it, choose V2 as the version, and give it read permissions.

    V2 is not optional here: a V1 key cannot read the project and its figures, however its permissions are set.

    Choose what the key may read and change

    Project configuration read, so the key can list the projects it may see; and charts metrics read, which is where MRR, revenue and every chart come from. A key with read permissions only cannot change anything in RevenueCat. To let your assistant propose changes too, give customer information read and write (granting a customer an entitlement for a set time, or taking back one you granted) and project configuration read and write (attaching a product to an entitlement, creating an offering). Each change waits for your approval.

    Copy the key and paste it into HeyMetra

    It starts with sk_. Choose RevenueCat on the Connections screen and paste it. It is stored encrypted and never shown again.

    A key that starts with appl_, goog_ or amzn_ is a PUBLIC SDK key, the one an app ships with. It cannot read anything and is not a secret.

    Pick the project

    One key can see several projects, and a RevenueCat project is usually one app. HeyMetra lists what the key can reach and one connection is one project.

Three things are known to go wrong with RevenueCat: a key with no permission on projects, a project that shows no metrics, and a V1 key that is valid but cannot reach what this connector reads.

The key saves and no projects are offered.
The key has no read permission on projects, so it can authenticate and see nothing.
Edit the key in RevenueCat and grant read on projects, then reconnect.
The project connects but the overview reports no metrics.
Either the charts and metrics permission is missing, or the project genuinely has no transactions yet. RevenueCat answers both the same way.
Compare against the project's own Overview page in the RevenueCat dashboard. Figures there and none here is a permission; nothing in either is a new project.
Saving fails and the key was copied correctly.
Usually a V1 key. It is a valid RevenueCat key, and it cannot read what this connector needs.
Create a new key and choose V2 as the version.
