Meta MCP Server
SoonConnect Meta once, then use it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex.
The Meta MCP server is a connector on HeyMetra, a remote MCP server for marketing and revenue data. You authorise Meta once with OAuth, and it becomes available as tools to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex. It exposes reads plus 6 tools that can change the account, each bounded in code. Meta is not available yet — it is marked Soon and cannot be connected, and it sits alongside 13 other sources behind the same connection.

What Meta is
Meta is where your paid campaigns, your Facebook Pages and your Instagram presence all live. Performance, audience and content sit in separate screens there, and the question you actually have usually spans them.
What it can change, and what stops it
These are the only tools here that write. Every other call reads. A write is checked against the ceilings below before anyone is asked to approve it, so a call that would breach one is refused rather than queued.
| Tool | Access | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| create_audience | write | Create a website custom audience from a pixel event. Nothing uses it until you add it to a campaign. |
| create_campaign | write | Create a paused campaign. It will not spend until you turn it on. |
| create_pixel | write | Create a pixel. It collects nothing until it is installed on the site. |
| pause_campaign | write | Pause or resume a campaign — proposed first, applied only once you approve. |
| rename_campaign | write | Rename a campaign — proposed first, applied only once you approve. |
| update_budget | write | Adjust a daily budget — proposed first, applied only once you approve. |
The ceilings — how far one change can move a budget, how many campaigns it can touch, how many writes a workspace gets in a day — are on the security page, with the reason for each.
Prompts that work once it is connected
You type these into your own client. HeyMetra never sees the conversation — only the tool calls the client decides to make.
- Which campaigns spent the most this month, and what did they return?
- How did my Instagram account do this month — reach, profile views, engagement?
- How many people did my Facebook Page reach last month?
- Which pixels are on the ad account, and when did each last receive an event?
Setting it up
Two steps, in this order: authorise Meta in HeyMetra — you sign in on Meta's own screen, so no password reaches us — then add HeyMetra as a remote MCP server in the client you use. The second step is the one that differs.
-
Claude
Claude calls remote MCP servers "connectors" and adds them from its own settings, under Connectors.
-
ChatGPT
ChatGPT adds remote MCP servers from its settings; the option is account- and plan-dependent and OpenAI has moved it more than once.
-
Cursor
Cursor reads MCP servers from an `mcp.json` file — one per project under `.cursor/`, or a global one in your home directory.
-
Codex
Codex reads MCP servers from its own config file, under an `mcp_servers` section.
Frequently asked
Is the Meta connector available yet?
No. Meta is marked Soon and cannot be connected. 7 of the 14 sources work today; this is not one of them, and no plan includes it yet.
Does Meta have an official MCP server?
Yes — the vendor publishes one, and it is the first result for that search (developers.facebook.com, checked September 2026). It covers Meta and nothing else. This connector sits next to 13 others behind one connection, which is the difference: one server that reads the account you spent in and the account you earned in.
What can I ask about Meta once it is connected?
Whatever the tools can answer — you type the question into your own client, not into anything of ours. For example: “Which campaigns spent the most this month, and what did they return?” or “How did my Instagram account do this month — reach, profile views, engagement?”
Can HeyMetra change my Meta account?
Only through 6 named tools — create_audience, create_campaign, create_pixel, pause_campaign, rename_campaign, update_budget — and each call is checked against ceilings held in code before a person is asked to approve it. Everything else is read-only.
How do I connect Meta to Claude or ChatGPT?
You connect Meta to HeyMetra once — by signing in on Meta, so no password reaches us — and then add HeyMetra as a remote MCP server in whichever client you use. The four client pages carry the step for each one.
What does the Meta connector cost?
Nothing on its own. Plans are priced by how many connectors and seats you get, not per connector or per tool call, and every plan can reach every connector that is live. The pricing page carries the current figures.
Connectors next to this one
The other half of the question lives in a different category: Google Search Console data sits behind the same connection, which is what lets one answer cover both.
Meta is not available yet
This page exists so it is ready when the connector is. Do not buy a plan for Meta — tell us you want it instead, and we will say when it lands rather than when we hope it will.
