What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work the same way. We use them to keep the site working, to understand how it is used, and to measure our advertising.
Strictly necessary
These always run. When you sign in, the HeyMetra application sets a session cookie to keep you authenticated, and security cookies protect sign-in. We also store your cookie choice itself, so we do not have to ask again on every page.

Analytics
Analytics tells us how visitors find and use the site and the app: pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, session length, approximate location and device. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager and Google Consent Mode, and PostHog for product analytics, heatmaps and, where enabled, session recordings. These run unless you turn analytics off.

Advertising
Ad measurement lets us tell which campaign brought you to the site and whether that visit led to a sign-up or a purchase, so we know which advertising is worth running. We use Google Ads, Meta Pixel and Reddit Pixel for this. It does not build a profile of you for other advertisers, and we do not sell your data. Advertising runs unless you turn it off, and it starts switched off if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.

Your choice
The cookie banner lets you accept everything, reject everything, or turn analytics and advertising on or off separately, and rejecting is as easy as accepting. Turning a category off stops its tools: Consent Mode is updated straight away, and no new identifier is stored for that category. The site stays fully usable either way. You can change your choice any time: . You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Third-party policies
Each provider's own use of data is governed by its policy: Google, Meta, Reddit and PostHog. Who receives your data and on what legal basis is set out in our Privacy Policy.
