HeyMetra vs Supermetrics
Moving data somewhere you can query it, versus asking the question and getting an answer.
What Supermetrics is built for
Supermetrics is a data pipeline. It pulls marketing data out of ad platforms and analytics tools and lands it somewhere else — a warehouse like BigQuery or Snowflake, a spreadsheet, or a BI tool — on a refresh schedule, so that whatever you build on top has consistent data underneath.
Side by side
| HeyMetra | Supermetrics | |
|---|---|---|
| What it delivers | An answer to the question you asked, with the account and date range it came from | Your data, landed in a destination you chose, ready to be analysed |
| What you build first | Nothing — you connect an account and ask | A destination and whatever reports or dashboards read from it |
| Data freshness | Read at the moment you ask | As fresh as the last scheduled refresh on your plan |
| Where your data sits | Stays in the source account; nothing is copied to us | Copied into the destination you own and manage |
| Can it change your accounts | Yes — proposes the exact edit, applies it only after you approve | No, by design; it reads and transfers |
| Pricing shape | Per workspace, by questions and connectors | Per destination and data source, so a second destination is a second subscription |
| Who operates it | Whoever asks the question | Usually someone comfortable with a warehouse or BI tool |
Compared against Supermetrics’s own description of what it does, checked July 2026. No prices or feature counts here — those move, and a stale number in our favour would be worse than none.
Which should you pick?
Pick Supermetrics if you want your marketing data in a warehouse or spreadsheet and you already have somewhere to analyse it. Pick HeyMetra if the thing you actually want is the answer — and, when the answer implies a change, an approved way to make it without leaving the conversation.
When Supermetrics is the better choice
Supermetrics is the better choice when the destination is the point: you are feeding a warehouse other teams query, you need a defined schema for finance or attribution modelling, or your reporting already lives in Looker Studio and Power BI and works. A pipeline is the right tool for that and we are not one.
Frequently asked
Is HeyMetra a replacement for a data pipeline?
Not if you need the data somewhere. HeyMetra reads from your accounts at query time to answer a question; it does not maintain a copy you can point other tools at. If your requirement is "the data must live in BigQuery", that is a pipeline job.
Do I still need Supermetrics if I use HeyMetra?
Only if something else depends on the warehouse copy — a finance model, another BI tool, a team that writes SQL. For the ad-hoc questions a marketer or founder asks during the week, no destination is involved.
Can either of them change a campaign?
Supermetrics does not — it reads and transfers, deliberately. HeyMetra can, behind an approval gate: it proposes the exact edit and applies it only after you approve that specific proposal.
