What is Stripe?

Stripe is the payments platform that processes your charges, subscriptions, and payouts. It’s the source of truth for revenue, MRR, and churn.

How HeyMetra works with Stripe

HeyMetra reads your Stripe account to answer questions about revenue, subscriptions, and failed payments — no dashboards to build. When you ask it to act on your billing, it proposes the change and runs it only after you approve.

   In the Stripe Dashboard, go to Developers → API keys.

   Create a restricted key with read access to the resources you want HeyMetra to see (charges, subscriptions, customers).

   Open Connections in HeyMetra and choose Stripe.

   Paste the restricted key and save — it’s stored securely and never shown again.

   Ask your first question — grounded in your live Stripe data.

• “What’s my MRR and how did it change this month?
• “How many subscriptions churned last month?
• “Which payments failed and why?
• “What’s my revenue by plan right now?

Actions it can take

Every action is proposed first and runs only after you approve it — nothing changes in Stripe until you say yes.

• Retry a failed payment — proposed first, applied only once you approve.
• Issue a refund on a charge you review.
• Update or cancel a subscription after you confirm.
